Terms of Service
Welcome to Epistles. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our email client applications, websites, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, downloading or using our apps, or visiting our websites, you confirm that you can enter into a binding agreement, that you accept these Terms, and that you will comply with all applicable laws. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Description of Service
Epistles provides software that connects to third-party email providers (for example Gmail, Microsoft 365, Fastmail, Proton Mail, and IMAP-compatible hosts) so you can read, compose, organize, and send email from a unified experience across supported devices. We may update, change, or discontinue features as we improve the product.
3. Accounts and security
3.1 Registration
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure.
3.2 Your responsibilities

- You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You must comply with the terms of each email provider you connect.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Services to violate any law or third-party rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users, or providers' systems.
- Reverse engineer, circumvent technical limits, or probe the Services for vulnerabilities except as expressly permitted by law.
- Use the Services to send spam, malware, or deceptive messages.

5. Third-party services
The Services interoperate with third-party email and identity providers. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. Epistles is not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or data handling by those providers.
6. Intellectual property
Epistles and its licensors retain all rights in the Services, including software, branding, and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.
7. Data and privacy
We do not sell your personal data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. How we collect and use data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Beta and availability
Epistles may be offered in beta or preview form. The Services are provided "as is" during such periods. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Epistles and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services.
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100), if you have not paid us.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
